Withnail & I Coat & Other Clothing

Based on a 19th century riding coat, celebrated costume designer Andrea Galer created the tweed coat worn by Withnail throughout much of the film. Made with a soft, Harris tweed that was commissioned exclusively for this coat, you used to be able to buy a replica of it from the Andrea Galer website.

Other types of Withnail and I clothing available from Andrea Galer include the waistcoat, shirt, scarf, trousers and tie. Those on a lesser budget however, may just like to settle for one of the various Withnail and I t-shirts instead.

The original tweed coat that Withnail wears throughout much of the film is now owned by Chris Evans, who paid £5000 for it at a West End charity auction in aid of Richard E Grant’s former school in Swaziland.
